Ellie the Wienerdog is a huge fan of fall and food. So, it follows that the combination of those two favorites would be the ultimate favorite! Arguably, the best fall food item is pumpkin related and as it stands, pumpkin is very healthy for dogs in it’s pure form. Pumpkin is a fabulous source of fiber for our lovable fuzzballs and can help with digestive health, such as constipation or diarrhea. Pumpkin is also great for dog’s Urinary Health, as it is high in antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, Potassium and Iron. Another great benefit is possible weight loss for your pup – just be sure that the pumpkin you use is without added sugar. A small amount such a tablespoon or two a day (adjusted for size of animal) pf pumpkin added to your pup’s food can make such a difference. But even more fun is using pumpkin in a delish concoction that your pup can enjoy! So, without much fanfare, here are Ellie the Wienerdog’s Favorite Fall Pumpkin Recipes.
- Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Dog Treats – Stock full of cinnamon, pumpkin and peanut butter – another dog fave – these treats are sure to please!
- Banana & Pumpkin Dog Treats – These delish treats have banana and honey in them – not gluten free though if that is a concern!
- Simple Pumpkin Cubes – These treats are a simple recipe that as an added benefit are frozen, if your dog is a major fan of such things. Plus, this recipe doesn’t get much simpler, using pumpkin and yogurt.
We hope if you get around to making any of Ellie’s Favorite Fall Pumpkin Recipes that you report back whether your dog thought they were pawsome or not!
